Transformation of the day: ShaRonda lost 153 pounds. This devoted mother not only wanted to live a long life and raise her son, but she also wanted to inspire the watching family members. She shared with us the steps she took to lose the weight and keep it off.

What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
I wanted to be able to provide for my son. I was motivated by my will to live and the fact that my family members looked out for me. My journey inspired them to be motivated.

How did you change your eating habits?
I started by cutting out the red meat. Then I did Weight Watchers and took nutrition classes.

When did the trip start? How long did your transformation take?
My journey started in 2011 and it took me about 2-3 years to lose the weight.

Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
Yes, I had the Lap-Band in 2011 and have been working on losing weight ever since.

How often did you exercise?
I trained 3-4 times a week.

What is your workout routine?
Every other day I walk with my friends for about 45 minutes and dance with my son at night.

What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 330 lbs and now I’m 177 lbs.

What is your height?
I am 5’4″.

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I learned that self-motivation is the best motivation!

What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Get inspired, remember to love yourself first and don’t give up.
