Makeover of the Day: Check out this update here Shanisha. He worked hard to lose it 133 pounds. We followed your trip since September 2021, when he shared how he lost 50 pounds before VSG surgery. She is really committed to healthy eating habits and exercise and credits her trainer for helping her achieve results.

What is your current weight?
My current weight is 241 pounds as of today.

How did you maintain/continue to lose weight?
I still cook my meals and eat 1200 calories a day. I noticed during the trip that when my body was under stress, my weight would stop. So I make sure to eat all three of my meals and two snacks between meals.

I train five days a week, three of which are with my self trainer. I wouldn’t be 133 kilos without my trainer.

Which of the lessons you’ve learned on the trip stands out the most at this point?
I’ve learned that it’s very easy to gain weight back once it’s gone. I also learned to eat sweets one day a week and how to hold myself accountable for everything.

Losing weight is not an easy task. Never think that losing weight is easy. It was easy to put the weight on and very difficult to take it off. Since I’ve been on my weight loss journey, I’ve lost my relationship of 12 years. The goals you want for yourself may not be the goals someone else wants for you.

I’m learning to be on my own again, work two jobs, be a full-time mom, exercise, and continue to lose weight. I didn’t know my life and body would change so much. I learn new things every day on this journey. I turned my heartache into my source of energy.

I have not finished yet. I have 61 more pounds to lose and no matter what, I’ll be at 180 pounds.
