Success stories don’t come naturally to successful people. They come from ordinary people with star eyes and big dreams who stayed true to their end goal and worked consistently. They are just like you and me. What sets them apart is their mindset – a success mindset.
Some people equate success with money and materialistic possessions; however, this is just a fragment of what it can be. Others may have generated this image of perfectionism that they find unfulfilled and out of touch with the subjugation of life. Materialistic success gives the appearance and the image of looking good; however, you can look good but still feel like an impostor at the core of your existence.
If materialism is the external proof of success, then the inner question becomes how does success ‘feel’? As much as someone looks like they have it all together, a feeling of depression and a negative feeling will be of little effect. You cannot naturally find success, you have to work for it. Those who have created success in their lives have developed an inner dialogue of success and achievement. If you are feeling unproductive, it may be time to take a closer look at your mindset.
Success starts with a growth mindset. Your mental attitude is affected by the way you value yourself. Getting fixated on materialism and how much you acquire will keep you from unleashing a high performance of your unique strengths and talents. To achieve growth and expansion, it is important to understand what success means to you. As you shift your mindset in a more positive direction, you will feel more enlightened and motivated to achieve your goals.
Create your success story and let the law of attraction manifest prosperity in your life. Here’s how:
1. Have a clear understanding of what success means in your life
what does success mean to you? It is essential to know and fully clarify your goals and desires before you can achieve success. Think about it this way: how do you know you’ve achieved it “good luck” if you have no goals or desires, and whether those goals and desires are being fulfilled?
Go beyond the picture and focus on your self-worth. Self-esteem is the other part of success. It can be challenging to express your worth if you don’t create the practice of persistence in the pursuit of your goals. Stay persistent even when things don’t go according to plan. Keep your expectations optimistic. You know what people are saying “You can go a long way with a positive attitude”.
“Success means having the courage, determination, and will to become the person you think you should be.” – George Sheehan
2. Find and explain your intentions
Have a clear vision of where you want to go and what you need to do to get there. Getting clarity about what you want to be, what you want to do, why do you want to do it and where do you want to go? And what do you have to do to achieve all those things? Get intentional about your success journey with a sense of awareness. Visualize your next steps to help you plan to achieve your goal or goals. By knowing these and determining your intentions, you can train your mind to focus on what is really important to you.
3. Treat success like a journey
You may have heard the infamous saying that success stories don’t happen overnight. Success can come at different stages and times in your life. Whether for work, business or life in general. Milestones, from starting a business to starting a family, can affect your meaning of success and can change over time. Amid the transitions, work with what you have to create income and impact. Focus on your strengths and do those things that build your self-esteem.
4. Walk at your own pace
It is possible to be successful in one area of your life and unsuccessful in other areas. So celebrate your achievements, no matter how big or small they are. Be more aware of your strengths and weaknesses. Give yourself grace and space with those areas that still need maturing and walk at your own pace. Although you feel like other people are already succeeding in their goals, it doesn’t mean your success won’t come. Focus on your own growth and process, and don’t pursue success. Your time will come. Just walk at your own pace and learn from your journey.
5. Use your obstacles and challenges as leverage
People are not wired to live a perfect life. We can try to be perfect, but in the end we are all still human. We all face setbacks and challenges at some point in our lives, so the end result and our future is entirely up to us. It is by constantly falling down and coming back up that we learn from our experience, and use those lessons and experiences that will help you finally succeed. Do you allow those setbacks and challenges to stunt your growth and success? Or will you allow those challenges and obstacles to leverage your next-level performance?
“Obstacles are those awful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals.” – Henry Ford
Become a reflective practitioner
Create an exercise of self-inventory of your mindset to re-evaluate your idea of success. The power of persistence and experience can produce results that are beneficial and empowering to build your mindset for your future achievements. You can easily do this by meditating for at least 10 minutes every morning, writing affirmations and visualizations, and keeping a journal at the beginning or end of the day. Determining your intentions for the day and self-reflection boosts mood and productivity, which in turn helps you get many things done.
Developing a success mindset can be beneficial not only to success, but also to mental health. You will not only attract and manifest prosperity; you will feel more at ease and at peace with your goals, your journey and especially yourself.
